What did I do for Disney?
I was the graphic design intern for Walt Disney World in 2018. I worked in the Disney Internships & Programs department, who organized internship opportunities, provided accommodations and Disney Housing events for college and international program participants from all corners of the world. As part of the Communications team, I was responsible to design visual collaterals to advertise more than 50 Disney Housing events.

Poster Design
Posters were the main source of advertising. There was a high degree of creative freedom, but one of the biggest design challenge was limited resources. The only design resource was the vector files for some of the Disney characters, such as The Incredibles. Therefore, I learned to recreate a lot of logos and characters with Adobe Illustrator.

Waitress Broadway Musical Event
One of the poster design was about a trip to watch the famous Broadway Musical show, Waitress. There were no visual assets for the musical at all, so I decided to manually recreate the neon Waitress logo from the original musical poster. You could see the process of creating the neon logo too.

Your Program Awakens Welcome Event
Another design example would be a poster for the Star Wars themed welcome event. I took on a minimalist approach with some of the most iconic Star Wars visual touches, such as the galaxy background and the typography styles.

Sing & Swap Event
Pin trading had always been a huge tradition in Disney. The Sing & Swap event was about singing karaoke while trading pins, so I decided to insert event details into different pins to show the playfulness of the event.

Disney Pals Breakfast Event
The event was a pajamas breakfast party with Goofy and Donald. The look and feel of the poster design was simple and invitation-like. The orange gradient background symbolized sunrise and breakfast-time. Apart from the poster, I also created various signages for the event.

Apart from the Disney character driven events, there were some other types of trips too, such as visiting the beach and groceries shopping.

I also created different promotional materials for the official Instagram and Twitter channels, such as event photography, short animations, and even the avatar of @DisneyHousing's Instagram.
